Isabelle Barany is a Jewish, non-binary writer. She graduated with an MFA in fiction from the University of New Orleans in 2020, where she was an Associate Fiction Editor for Bayou Magazine. Her fiction appears in swamp pink. She was a finalist in Miami Book Fair's 2021 Emerging Writer Fellowships program. Her flash fiction was shortlisted in the 2024 Bridport Prize. She has received a semi-finalist nomination from American Short Fiction and an Honorable Mention from Glimmer Train in their contests.

She’s currently working on a novel in interconnected stories which examines the causes and aftershocks of genocide through the prism of Hungarian Jewry.
